About Paragon
We pride ourselves on taking care of this and then focusing on helping you
grow your business and teach you how to use financial tools to monitor your progress.
The History of Paragon BDS
More than 30 years ago our firm was started by founder Bryan Smith (dec) in Sheffield Tasmania and in the year 2000 he purchased the Ulverstone business from Pinkard, Rawson and Rowe and formed Paragon BDS. The business that exists today is a result of the joining of those two very well established businesses.
In 2005 Karen Gambles joined the firm and in 2008 became Bryan’s business partner. Karen took over as sole director following the very sad loss of Bryan. Today Paragon is a team of CPA accountants whose purpose is to support and develop small business in Australia.
We do most of our work in Ulverstone Tasmania which allows us to keep our pricing competitive, but we have regular face to face meetings in Melbourne, Hobart, Launceston and other centres as demand dictates. We have learned from other successful firms and developed a pricing structure that suits everyone.
We pride ourselves on the way we have embraced technology. We are advocates of cloud accounting and were the first firm in Tasmania to become a platinum partner with Xero. To be platinum you need to have at least 500 clients using Xero software.
We have also embraced the idea of specialism and have staff specialised in Aged Care Advice, SMSF Administration, Audit and as mentioned before Cloud Accounting. With this structure we work closely as a team drawing on each other’s knowledge and experience as required. We have also developed alliances with other service providers like lawyers, financial planners and estate and succession planners.
While tax compliance is important and needs to be adhered to in a timely and accurate manner we pride ourselves on taking care of this and then focusing on helping you grow your business and teach you how to use financial tools to monitor your progress. We are a one stop shop for all of your financial and business development needs.
